What is Aloe Vera

According to Wikipedia – ‘Aloe Vera is a succulent plant specie of the genus Aloe.  An evergreen perennial, it originates from the Arabian Peninsula but grows wild in tropical climates around the world and is cultivated for agricultural and medicinal uses’

This is not a biological or botanical  post on the Aloe plant.  My focus is on sharing some the benefits my family and I have had from using  aloe based products personally.
I have also had the chance to pursue a tremendous life-changing business opportunity around the top quality aloe based products.

Plant properties

 Ok so I did a bit of research on my own about Aloe Vera based products and I came across a fairly mixed response. I also talked to a lot of people and used some of the products myself.
Here’s what I found:
  • That the plant has been in use as far back as the 16th Century BC and it was referred to at the ‘plant of immortality’
  • The science on the plant’s properties is inconclusive – in that there are several studies that say one thing and a few others that suggest otherwise.
  • All the individuals I spoke to had only positive things to say about the benefits they received from the product
  • There are several companies that use Aloe Vera in a very wide range of products
  • I have not come across any research that suggests the plant is harmful or its use in any product poses any health risks

The products range from food and food supplements to lotions, balms, pastes, energy fruit bars and drinks

Benefits

Christian Nordqvist in an article titled ‘The Nine health and medical uses of Aloe Vera” mentions the following research verified benefits of Aloe Vera:

  • Improved teeth and gums for those who used Aloe based tooth gels
  • Helps relieve constipation
  • promotes dramatic healing in diabetes-induced food ulcers
  • antioxidant and antimicorbial properties
  • protection from ultra violet irradiation
  • protection from skin damage after radiation therapy
  • reduction of depression and improvement of memory
  • heals wounds from second degree burns and
  • helps improve irritable bowel syndrome

In another article medically reviewed by Debra Rose Wilson, PhD, MSN, RN, IBCLC, AHN-BC, CHT on September 6, 2016 and written by Summer Fanous the author points to 7 amazing uses for Aloe including some of those listed above, but adding
